Yard is one of the most beautiful areas in a house, which gets you closer to nature and rejuvenates the body, mind and soul. It is a perfect place for relaxing, enjoying and meditating. The green yard full of plants, trees and flowers is complemented with statutes, which add to the beautification and aura of the place. Some prefer to place Hindu statues in their yard while others place the statues depicting modern art /animal sculptures etc. their liking and choice. But the most crucial part is to select the base for the same, which would add to the beauty of the yard.
Selection of the Base:
For the beautification of the yard, statues of different types, sizes, material and metals are available. The base of the statue to be installed at a yard depends on the kind of statue being installed, flora and fauna of the yard. The base of the statue can be of any material i.e. Stone, cement, marble, bronze, iron and wood, which, when judiciously used, can lead to a highly creative base for the statue.
While placing the Buddha statue, it should be ensured that it creates a nice impression on the other person. It is pertinent to ensure that the base is proportionally balanced, complementing the color, size of the statue. Buddha statue placed on the pedestal adds to the beauty of the statue and yard.It should be ensured that the idol of the deity is always placed on an elevated base. You can use natural stone/granite as a base being placed outdoor, in a yard. But people, their taste also add metals like bronze, iron, & copper for making the base.
Concrete yard Statue Pedestal:
People love to save time.If you are those, then simply head to your local hardware store and find a prefabricated paper of10 inch height. But if you aren’t confident about product quality, then you can make your pedestal. They have a long life and requires less maintenance. Just make sure to follow these steps.
Find a Mold: To mark the foundation of a pedestal, we need first to choose its shape and size. You can use any old baking tray or 30 gallons Tough Stuff Tub and use it as a would. Just make sure that it’s 5 inches thick.
Prepare Concrete Mix: Create a mixture of mortar, charcoal-coloured dye and sand mix. Stir in enough water to create a mud pie consistency.
Spray: Add some generous amount of non-cane cooking spray on to they would and then transfer the concrete mix in it. Distribute it evenly and avoid the formation of bubbles in them.
Decoration: Add some pebbles, marbles, initials to decorate it.
Dry it: Leave the pedestal for 3 hours and allow it to dry.
Remove the paper:Tap it out from the mold and place the base at any suitable spot in your yard.
Place the Statue: Now you can place the white Buddha statue on it and make sure to leave it untouched for 24 hours.
Concrete yard Statue Pit: You can also do certain modifications in the above mentioned process. Instead of using mold (like a baking tray or tub), you may use the pit. All you have to do is :
- Find a vacant spot in your yard.
- Dig the space of about the length of your statue.
- The depth of the pit should be 3 inches.
- Determine the estimated volume of the pit.
- Take an empty container ( of about 20 liters capacity) to mix the concrete.
- Procure concrete mix and combine it with enough water to create mud pie consistency.
- Pour it into the pit and let it partially settle for 3 hours.
- Place the statue marking the alignment with the center and press the bottom of the statue firmly.
- Leave the statue untouched for 24 hours and let the base harden.
Securing & Beautification of the Statue:
Always that the statue being placed in the yard area is secured by fencing.It protects the same against accidental crashes.The statue base should be made of concrete at a proper level location so that it allows the water to drain easily without any obstruction. Adequate illumination of the statue with soft spotlights would beautify the same. Planting of lovely and colorful season flowers around the statue would give a great feel.
